Press Release Summary: The OREGON TRAIL WEEK is nearly here! For every day during
the autumn half term (Saturday 20 - Sunday 28 October 2007), The American Museum in
Britain, Claverton Manor, near Bath, is inviting kids to come and stomp about the
grounds and discover their leafy arboretum.

Press Release Body: Kids must find clues to collect all the necessary supplies and
make the journey across the American West on the Oregon Trail. They can complete the
trail sheet and enter it in a special competition to win a great prize. Suitable for
ages 5 and up.

Children will also love the brand new hands-on American Heritage exhibition. Using
multi-sensory elements of sound, film and costume, the real stories and spirit of
American life come alive. Kids can view films, touch screens, handle exhibits,
explore Native American headdresses, have a go at paper rubbing or try their skills
designing a virtual quilt.

When the kids aren't playing amongst the beautiful grounds or walking the nature
trails, the whole family can take in the numerous furnished period sets tracing the
American way of life from Colonial times to the mid 19th Century. After a picnic or
cafe pit stop and freshly baked real American cookies, there are plenty of
galleries to explore, devoted to the very best of Americana and decorative arts.
Precious family treats like this don't come along very often so head stateside to
The American Museum in Britain.
